The Acme Screw is used for Z axis actuation on the Shapeoko, XCarve and many other robotic and CNC applications.
The Acme nuts, couplers and other accessories are also shown for example only and are not included with the purchase of Lead screw.
237mm Stainless Acme Thread - For Shapeoko/Xcarve:
- Stainless 237mm
- 7mm section turned down one end to 8mm diam for bearing
- 30mm section turned down the other end to 8mm diam for bearing and flex coupler
400mm Black Carbon Steel Acme Thread - For Ordbot upgrade / robotics or extended Z Axis application
- Black Carbon Steel, 400mm
- 15mm of one end turned down to 8mm diam for bearing / coupler / pulley
The ACME TPI = 12 / pitch = 2.117
In the Shapeoko/CNC application, using 2 Microsteps, steps per mm is 188.946623 Steps Per Revolutions * Microsteps / Pitch
200 * 2 / 2.117 = 188.946623
NOTE!!! If you already have a nut, be careful that it is also the imperial ACME thread and not the metric Trapezoidal screw - they look similar but... are not!
