X Carve in Australia - XYZ Carve
The XYZ Carve is the Australian version of an internationally renowned open source project that began life as a Shapoko and has evolved through many iterations into the fantastic entry level CNC routing machine that it is today.
A relatively large format computer controlled routing/milling machine for carving out your creations quickly and repeatably with tolerances you could not hope to achieve by hand.
The Machine is available in one of 3 standard sizes:

We recommend you use Fusion 360, it's brilliant and free for hobbyists and startups, - don't wait till you have a CNC machine...download it now!
What Can you do with it
Anything you can think of that can be carved from a non-ferrous material, with dimensions that will fit within the machine should be able to be carved.
Some of our customers are making guitars, furniture, toys, product enclosures, signwriting, rapid prototype PCB's, trinkets and artwork for the local markets or Etsy. Other customers keep their intentions top secret or simply don't know what they will make yet but just know they need one.
The CNC machine is capable of working with all wood, plastic, foam and other soft machineable materials. While primarily designed as a woodworking machine they are used with plastics, carbon fibre, aluminium, brass, bronze etc - we have done all of the above.
The machine can produce almost anything that it's larger 3 axis counterparts (like the Heavy Mill or commercial 3 Axis machines) can accomplish - not at the same speed of the output of course but also not at the cost!
It's a great entry-level machine, great for the home workshop, prototyping works, crafts business, and also a fantastic way to dip a toe in the water with CNC production without the big spend.
