GRBL Parallel Shield
To the extent possible under law, 3DTek.xyz has waived all copyright and related or neighbouring rights to GRBL Parallel Shield. This work is published from: Australia.
Similarly to the Grbl Breakout Shield, we have public domain'd the design in the hope someone else will take care of producing these;) 3DTek.xyz has a handful of these boards for people wanting to use GRBL instead of Mach3 on a Heavy Mill, and with any luck they will be cheaply found on alibaba soon for anyone else!
Other than the Gecko pinout on the DB25 connector, the shield also takes care of limit switch filtering and connection as well as other required peripheral control connections.

Limit Switch Connections
Limits can be connected to the Motor Controller (Gecko or other) or to the Parallel shield. Best method is to connect to the Parallel shield so that the limits switch states are accessable by GRBL for homing routines.
GRBL Defaults to Normally Open (for some unknown reason) however can be set to operate normally closed (if wired for such) by changing GRBL parameter $5 =1.
The Control port are simply normally open contacts that pull to GND when closed. Most setups only use the reset pin for Emergency stop situations, however resume and feed hold can be configure onto buttons as well, we recommend using momentary bush buttons for the Resume and Feed Hold if setting these up.
